What can my technician access?
After you approve, your technician can see your primary screen. If you approve control, they can also use your mouse and keyboard with your current Windows permissions. The app tells you which type of access is being requested.
Where do I find my code?
Download and open DeskRook Support on the computer that needs help. Your code appears automatically in the app. It expires after ten minutes and can be used once. If it expires, choose Get a new code in the app.
How do I end the session?
Choose End session in the app, or close its window. Access also ends if you lock or sign out of Windows. A new session needs a new code from the app and your approval. The app does not set up ongoing access or start with Windows.
Windows is showing a security warning.
This pilot app is not yet digitally signed, so Windows or your security software may flag it as unfamiliar. Only proceed if you were expecting help from your technician. If you're unsure or it is blocked, contact them before continuing.
Can I use a Mac or Linux computer?
This download is for Windows on a 64-bit Intel or AMD computer. Customer apps for Mac and Linux are not available yet. Ask your technician about another way to help.
Do I need to install .NET?
No. DeskRook Support includes its runtime, so it can run without a separate .NET installation. That is why the download is larger than a small installer. You can delete the downloaded app after your session.
